Yellowstone cast previews 'perfect ending' to the series

Taylor Sheridan has always understood the ending for Yellowstone. Over the years, the "when" may have become somewhat unclear;

nevertheless, the narrative of the Dutton family and the extent they would go to to preserve their legacy—and maybe more importantly, their land—always had an ending.

Executive producer David Glasser remembers "Day one, episode one, Taylor said, 'I know exactly how this ends.'"

Neither did the Yellowstone author keep from his cast. "He told me the show's ending when we were filming season 1," Kelly Reilly, who has spent five seasons portraying the strong Beth Dutton, explains.

Set a benchmark for drama in its first episode, which saw the death of eldest sibling Lee Dutton ( Dave Annable), the series follows the members of the Dutton family

patriarch John ( Kevin Costner), family-lawyer-turned-enemy Jamie (Wes Bentley), businesswoman/bulldog Beth, and independently minded cowboy Kayce (Luke Grimes) as well as those that work on their beloved ranch.

From that point on, it was abundantly evident in Montana that the struggle for land (and a particular way of life) was one of life and death. The Duttons would also do whatever to prevail in that conflict.

Yellowstone debuted on the obscure Paramount Network in June of 2018, but finally—thanks to word-of-mouth and episodes running CBS and Peacock—would find its audience... and then some.
