This traditional tuna sandwich in the form of a deli is loaded with protein and topped with a freshly cut tomato slice that is juicy.
Only one sandwich can be made with this recipe; however, it is simple to increase the quantity to double or even quadruple.
However, if you would rather have something that is less sweet, you can use dill pickle relish for the sweet pickle relish. This will offer a contrast of flavours to the mixture.
– 1 (5-ounce) can no-salt-added white tuna in water, drained and flaked – 3 tablespoons mayonnaise – 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh dill – 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh chive
– 1 1/2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish – 3/4 teaspoon Dijon mustard – 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper – 2 (1-ounce) slices multigrain bread, lightly toasted – 2 large slices tomato (1/4- to 1/2-inch) – 2 thin slices red onion – 2 leaves butter lettuce
It is recommended that you use a fork to thoroughly combine the tuna, mayonnaise, dill, chives, relish, mustard, and pepper in a medium bowl.
In a single slice of bread, spread the tuna salad. As a topping, place the remaining slice of bread, tomato, onion, and lettuce on top. To serve, cut the steak in half.
