More than three years ago, Taylor Swift started one of the most audacious recording endeavors in contemporary music. The star chose to re-record and re-release all of her first six albums when other firms, not her, acquired the rights to them. Her household name became well-known as the aim was that supporters, maybe the public, would choose to purchase and broadcast the revised takes on those full-lengths. Should that prove to be the case, she would have ownership over those tunes and would stand to make a lot of money.
Years later she began the process, and she has had great success. She re-recorded and dropped all four albums, and they still sell well today since they achieved No. 1 on charts all throughout the world. One of them almost makes a return to the top of a chart she is familiar with this week, indicating just how much Swift’s enormous following loves the revamped versions of her early blockbusters and bestsellers.
Rising to the runner-up rung on the official country artists album chart this week is Fearless (Taylor’s Version). Her sophomore endeavor, Fearless, has a revised take that pushes from No. 4 to No. 2 and once more approaches the pinnacle in striking reach.
Another legend in the game has the official country artists album ranking this week: Willie Nelson. His updated full-length Last Leaf on the Tree placed second last time around. Now, it’s his most recent No. 1 on the ranking of the best-selling albums in the United Kingdom by musicians operating in the country genre.
Fearless (Taylor’s Version) might not run the show, but it’s not as though it hasn’t taken front stage. Already running an incredible 46 weeks at No. 1 on the Official Country Artists Albums chart over its existence, Swift’s re-recordings have already scored.
Not so long ago, either, Swift last led the country-only albums count. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) visited No. 1 in August over more than one turn. It hasn’t dropped very far since then, and depending on its performance, it might soon re-conquer the roster.
